2016 Annual Report & Financial Summary
2016 proved to be a break-through year for T2C2 in many ways, and here are a few highlights. To begin with we added Bethel-Dallas as our fourth full church partner, and that mission site is already off to a great start. We also have become our own legal entity with an established Board of Directors, bylaws and bank account. We also were able to complete the necessary paperwork for 501 c3 status with the IRS. Further, we have continued to identify and develop local leaders for churches in the network, many who are already taking on key leadership roles at our various mission sites. This includes Luis and Mirella Benitez who, under the guidance of Juan and Alma Zamora, have been in training to take over the leadership of the mission at Santa Cruz/Holy Cross which they will do in early 2017.
We continued to have students take the three pre-seminary classes online from the Lutheran Hispanic Missionary Institute (LHMI) in El Paso. In the Spring we had six students complete the second class and seven students are currently registered for the third class, giving us four students who will have completed all three classes. At least two of them are planning to apply for more training through
the Center for Hispanic Studies at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. We also sent some of the ministry staff of our partner churches and leaders-in-training to several training events including Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) National Conference, Five-Two National Conferences, Chalmers Institute-Rethink Poverty and Texas District Pastor's Conference. Pastor Beto Alzate was added as a second Hispanic Mission Developer on a part time basis by Bethel where he is already developing the Hispanic Mission. He is also working with Pastor Juan Zamora to help facilitate with the training of our future Hispanic workers.
With all this going on and more, it is time for us to share our first Annual Report and Financial Summary. As you can see we have been able to accomplish a lot with the resources God has provided us through our ministry partners. In 2017, we look forward to seeing continued gospel growth and more lives transformed by the message of Christ at our mission sites. We also look forward to hosting our first La Paz Soccer tournament and annual fundraiser. All of this to the glory of Jesus who makes this all possible.
In His Service,
Pastor Chris Holder
