La Paz Expanding

“We are a family”; “A club that cares about us.” Comments like these are important for the leadership of La Paz, a soccer club that strives to provide more than just a place for people to play soccer. This kind of feedback lets us know what we are doing well and what we can do better. At “Club La Paz” we are committed to impacting all aspects of the lives of our students and players. Sure we play games, practice hard, develop skills and even try to win our games. However, we also have devotionals when we gather, do fellowship events outside soccer, and help our players be better students at school. All of this is for a purpose, to grow together as individuals, as a team, as a club, and eventually as a community of faith.

One exciting update is that we are making great progress as we work with T2C2 and Faith-Grand Prairie to finish the soccer field at Comunidad de Fe (Community of Faith). It will soon be ready for use and expand our soccer practices, provide a summer soccer camp, and gather the youth in the community around Faith, as Colossians 3:17 reminds us, “and whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of Jesus...” Parents and children know that there is more to La Paz than just soccer. It’s about being an agent of hope and a better future for many young people who are struggling out there, all while having a lot fun.
